Osmotic conditioning in ‘Volkameriano’ seeds (Citrus volkameriana Tan. and Pasq.)

The seeds submitted to osmoconditioning present desirable results as uniform germination and reduction of the sowing to emergence timing. This work was carried out aiming to analyze the ‘Volkameriano’ seeds behavior submitted to osmoconditioning. The -0.6; -0.8; -1.0 and -1.2 MPa potentials were tested for 0, 4, 8 and 12 days, and was evaluated the water content, germination, speed of germination index, accelerate aging, emergence on field and speed of emergence index. The germination was affected by osmoconditioning, as well as the speed of germination index. For emergence the potentials until -1.0 MPa keep the percentage of emerged seedlings, values superiors to germination in laboratory and speed of emergence index. It was observed germination increasing with the osmoconditioning time and reducing with the osmoconditioning increasing.Downloads
