The present study has as purpose to do a discussion about the role of the planning to the consolidation of a space returned to the capital. With that objective, it is stood out the Northeastern case, from the theoretical analysis addressed to a regional approach. It is sought in this sense to demystify the real intentions of the planning as promoter of the regional development, like this showing the ideological character of the applied development in the Northeastern area of Brazil. It is well-known to observe that the applied planning in the Northeastern reality had an important role in the creation of industrial poles foreseeing a project of national integration, on the other hand it was not enough in what refers to its initial role of softening the inequalities and to generate development.Downloads
