Abstract

Now, the production of honey is for export only 50 to 60% of production is in the internal market. However, according to the embargo of Brazilian exports to the European Union in 2006, started a business concern about the fate of the honey produced. An alternative is the Brazilian market, but there is little knowledge about the profile of local consumers, so it is necessary to know the consumers of bee products. For this study 534 people were interviewed in the cities  of Aracaju and São Cristóvão. The sample was obtained through simple random sampling, with the reliability index of 95% and margin of sampling error of 4,3%. There is a need for explication on the benefits of bee products as well as on the process and ways to purchase these products without risk of fraud.
