This study aims to analyze the process of inclusion of students with disabilities on the campus of SãoCristóvão of Universidade Federal of Sergipe (UFS). The central research question was to detect theaccessibility problems that these students are in college. This is a qualitative case study, quantitative anddescriptive Campus. Data collection was conducted through visits to the main campus facilities, observation areas of cohabitation, in classrooms, quantitative data obtained from the Central Committeeof the Vestibular (CCV), the Department of Academic Affairs (DAA) and files of the Center for Researchon School Inclusion of People with Disabilities. Was also carried out a survey of the problems of physicalaccessibility. We discuss here the architectural barriers found in the various environments of theuniversity, as well as a reflection on the theme, based on readings and analysis of a basic documentationwhich includes articles, the Brazilian legislation and book chapters. There are still barriers listed above(since 2009), preventing the traffic of people with physical disabilities. In this study we found that theteaching, departmental blocks, the centers, the Central Library - BICEN, the rectory, the UniversityRestaurant Resun and parking facilities are inaccessible, as not consistent with the ABNT 9050/2004. Theimprovement of accessibility in the UFS is important both for people with disabilities but also for theentire academic community. The social life of all is constitutional principle and the right to come and goand equalization of opportunities for all are conditions for the realization of citizenship.Downloads
