The Integrated Coastal Zone Management works, as proposed by UNESCO, necessarily, should conduct studies on land use and occupation of the area to be managed, in that order we feel motivated to undertake the study in a district of the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza. The procedures adopted were: literature and documental review of the history of the local occupation, mapping the current state of use and occupation using images from the Quickbird satellite, treated in the s oftware Arcview 9.x and an investigation on the field with GPS. There were d ifferent ways of land using and various human activities that stimulated the recent changes in the area, the tourism is the main impressive.Downloads
