Common sense and science in the Limoeiro community
Keywords:
common sense, scientific knowledge, school knowledge.Abstract
This exploratory study we sought to identify similarities and differences between common sense ideas and scientific knowledge related to two themes proposed in the National Curriculum Parameters for the Teaching of Science in Elementary Education. The axis was Technology and Society and Earth and Universe. The results indicate that there is a greater distance between scientific models and common sense models to explain certain phenomena in the Earth and Universe axis. This hint makes us conclude that there is a deficiency in astronomy approach in elementary school or to the community, the scientific models make no sense, that is, they are alternative.
