Continuing Education in Health and the quality of dental care

Abstract

This article objectively analyzes Permanent Health Education actions, their association with the work process in Dental Specialty Centers and their relationship with primary care. This is an analytical, exploratory cross-sectional study, based on secondary data obtained by the 2nd Cycle of the National Program for Improving Access and Quality of Dental Specialty Centers. Two logistic regression models were adjusted with a 5% statistical significance level. The analysis showed that in the Dental Specialties Centers where Continuing Education in Health is worked jointly with primary care professionals, there is 3.3 times more chance of having a joint construction of therapeutic projects and 4 times more chance of having discussions and construction of clinical protocols. This article presents an important relationship between Permanent Health Education actions and the organization of work processes at the Dental Specialty Centers, placing it as an essential aspect to be established, as it provides important support for understanding problems and proposing work strategies.
