Effect of pre-irradiation heat treatment on the reproducibility of CaSO4: Dy pellets
Keywords:
Calcium sulfate, reproducibility, thermoluminescence phenomena.Abstract
The calcium sulfate doped with dysprosium (CaSO4: Dy) is widely used in dosimetry due to its excellent properties such as high sensitivity, easy handling and stability of the response even under adverse environmental conditions. This material is used both in individual and in environmental monitoring. As the thermal treatment of the TL materials can affect their main dosimetric characteristics (glow curve and sensitivity), the objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of the thermal treatment duration and the cooling process on the reproducibility of the CaSO4:Dy pellets. Preliminary results are presented and the influence of the thermal treatment duration and the cooling process for this material are discussed.Downloads
