COD removal from effluent of pulp and paper industries using reagent Fenton’s
Keywords:
Effluent, factorial experiment, Fenton’s reagent.Abstract
The objective of this study was to analyze by a factorial experiment the effects of operational variables which affect the COD removal from an effluent of a pulp and paper industry in an chemical process (reagent Fenton’s). For the factorial design were analyzed the input variables: ratio [COD]:[H2O2], ratio [H2O2]:[Fe2+], pH and reaction time. The results showed that the optimized conditions by the Fenton process had been found: ratio [COD]:[H2O2]=1:7,5; ratio [H2O2]:[Fe2+]=4,0:1; pH=5,0 and time=1,0 hour for a maximum COD removal of 94,7%.Downloads
