Alternatives for sustainable development in the Brazilian northeast semi-arid : from degradation to conservation

Geography has collaborated significantly to a better understanding of spatial configuration of many territories, but also helping in this analysis of the relationship of humans with nature, in effect changes in environmental spheres, social and cultural rights. Currently, the geography has sought to maintain a relationship for better interdisciplinary understanding of many phenomena that occur in the geographical area. In this article seeks to achieve a geographical analysis from the viewpoint of the processes of degradation that has occurred in the semi-arid northeast. From this perspective was a study in the practice of sustainable rural development in the region of caatinga. Such attitudes are helping several families entered into the semi-arid northeast and at the same time being an alter native to minimizing environmental impacts such as desertification that plague the region.Downloads
