First Occurrence of Ancylite in Bahia State: Accessory Mineral in the foid syenites of the Floresta Azul Alkaline Complex
Keywords:
Ancylite, foid syenite, Bahia State.Abstract
Microanalysis using energy dispersive spectrometer in the scanning electron microscope has made possible to identify ancylite [Sr (La, Ce) (CO3)2 (OH).(H2O)] in foid syenites of the Floresta Azul Alkaline Complex, located in the southern of Bahia State. The textures identified in the periphery of carbonate crystals and fractures in the annite crystals indicate that the crystallization of ancylite represents late stage in the evolution of these rocks.References
