Abstract

The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of different rates and sources of phosphorus in height and stem diameter of maize plants in greenhouse conditions The study was conducted in a completely randomized block design and arranged in a factorial arrangement 4 x 4, with 4 rates of phosphorus (0, 100, 200 and 300 mg kg-1 de P), 4 different P sources (rock phosphates of Tocantins-FNT, reactive rock phosphates-FNR, rock phosphates of Bahia-FNB and triple superphosphate-SFT) and with 4 replications. Therefore, the experiment consisted of 16 treatments, totalizing 64 pots as experimental units. Analysis of variance was done for all variables as sources, rates and interaction between rates and sources. The heights and smaller diameter stems were identified when the corn was fertilized with rock phosphate. This result was different from what happened in the treatment which used triple superphosphate, where it was found the greatest heights and diameter stems. Among the natural sources used, the FNB is the most suitable to promote the growth of corn.
