Abstract

The study aimed to register the insects associated with seeds of Albizia polycephal, but also determine the occurrence and the quantification of damage caused by them. Fortnightly collections were made of pods of a. polycephala held in the months of August 2010 to February 2011, selecting random trees and collecting 100 pods directly from the plant, where they were taken to the laboratory and kept in plastic pots covered with organza. The consumption of seeds by insects was determined by the difference between the sound seed and preyed upon, to do this, the seeds were separated into 5 lots, each containing 100 seeds in each batch, totaling 500 healthy seeds and 500 preyed upon. Subsequently, each batch was heavy in electronic balance and the results have been obtained through statistical analysis by t-test to the 5% level of probability. Emergidos insects were collected and stored in pots with 70% alcohol. Were emergidos 222 insects being four orders, Coleoptera, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera and Lepidoptera and beetles found noted the presence of families Bruchidae, Anthribidae, Cerambycidae, Rove beetle, Cucujidae and Nitidulidae. The families of higher incidence were Anthribidae and Bruchidae, with 35% and 29%, respectively. The highest peak of emergency insects occurred in February the average weight of the batches of 100 healthy seeds and preyed upon by insects broqueadores were 4, 5, 9 g and 3 g, respectively. The percentage was consuming substrate, 60% by weight of seeds of a. polycephala.Becomes necessary, therefore the greatest entomological studies geared toward this native forest species that is still very little studied in this region.
