Abstract

The knowledge of temperatures and thermal properties of the soil of a given region is of fundamental importance for the understanding of the various physical processes that occurs in the soil. Although it is known that soil temperature is an environmental factor of great importance to agriculture, few studies have been performed by the scientific community about this variable. Therefore, this work aims the study of thermal characteristics of the soil using data collected in National Institute of Semiarid, during the months from july to december of the year 2012. By analyzing the results it was found that the highest daily thermal amplitudes are associated to portions closest to the surface. Also observed similarity significant of the estimates of soil thermal diffusivity obtained through different methods.
