Abstract

The set of climatic phenomena that swept over the city of Blumenau (SC) in november 2008 caused, besides the loss of live, destruction of homes and businesses. This article resulted from the contribution of researchers in rebuilding the city. The study aimed to point to a classification of materials used in construction of a housing project of 620 units, which took into account the risks of collapsing walls on the use of four possible materials. The criteria used were the types of rainfall occurring in the region: convective, frontal and orographic and costs in the use of each material. Using the method of maximum entropy, analysis was performed using weights determined by a group of participants in the reconstruction Blumenau. The result pointed to the use of cement blocks.
