The coastal environments are remarkably dynamic responding to changes in a much greater speed than other environmental units within the continent, thus, they are sensible to changes caused by humans leading to unwanted consequences. One of the ways to avoid negative impacts is through planning and coastal management that to optimize the results should consider the dynamic characteristics of the local environment. The study area includes the Caponga Beach, in the city of Cascavel, east coast of Ceará State. The coastal erosion is a serious problem faced by Beach. Besides the visible damages, it configures a barrier to the development of productive activities such as tourism and commerce. Moreover, the complexity of the reality and the level of aesthetics landscape modifications turn more complex the social and environmental conjuncture being difficult the implantation of measures of uses form of the land. This research had as main objective to understand the ambient evolution. Through official data, it was possible to contribute with reflections and subsidies to the development of participative models of management. The results evidenced that although the erosive processes are not a determinative influence for the local economy, they are a barrier for the development of the productive activities developed there. Thus, the implementation of models of planning and management that can involve popular layers, public and private initiative and responsible agencies becomes an alternative for the reduction of the existing conflicts, tracing goals and actions plans more efficient and adjusted for Caponga Beach.Downloads
