Abstract

The car washes are micro-enterprises that contribute to the development of cities, to participate in the distribution of income, employing people and serving other sectors of the economy than the general public. But they also need to adapt to environmental sustainability, not wasting water or supplies, treating their wastewater and reusing wastewater. In this study we conducted a survey on car washes in the city of Natal, RN, aiming to survey the owners of these establishments on the environmental impacts caused negative and positive in the physical, biotic and anthropic generated by these activities. The research was conducted with questionnaires applications with open questions and ordered a total of 20 car washes distributed by city's administrative regions. Analysis and interpretation of data were conducted by setting categories, tabulation and analysis of statistical information. It was concluded that these activities in Natal require greater attention from the environmental agency in relation to environmental and legal aspects.
